These models are not guaranteed to access this capability at all locations. For example, if you own a Cadillac LYRIQ and our available GM Powershift Wall Charger, you can expect the speed on the chart, depending on the preferences you set on the myCadillac app.1 However, if your charging station is an 11.5-kW outlet, you can expect it to take around nine hours to charge to full.1
Charging at Home
There are two methods to recharge any of our new Cadillac electric vehicles for sale from the comfort of your home.
- Level 1 (Home Outlets): The Dual-Level Charging Cord plugs right into any of your standard three-prong outlets to give you a few miles per hour – perfect for topping off at a friend's house or at work.1 Its second end can plug into four-prong outlets, allowing you to charge up to 21 miles per hour at designated locations.1
- Level 2 (Dedicated Stations): We can install two optional Level 2 Charging Stations: the GM Powerup 2 Charge (up to 31 miles per hour) or the GM Energy Powershift Charger (up to 51 miles per hour).1 These come with a cord attached, so there's no need to purchase another cable after installation. You'll notice the difference as overnight charging becomes a breeze.
Public Charging Types
Whether you're cruising down the highway or looking for a place to refill in the city, you'll find two types of public charging stations in New York:
- Level 2 (Standard Charging Stations): Similar to home stations, Level 2 ports in Freeport, NY, can charge up to 56 miles per hour.1 However, in many cases, they will be owned by businesses. Be sure to contact the owner and see if you can charge up; some of these locations will require you to be a customer or employee, and others have fees.
- Level 3 (DC Fast-Charging Stations): More common at highway pitstops, these stations charge your battery so quickly that it's recommended to only bring your vehicle to 80%. Most Cadillac models can do so within 30 minutes at these locations.1
In the case that you'll need to pay to receive Cadillac EV charging, your myCadillac app serves as your convenient digital wallet.
Charging Adapters
By default, our Cadillac inventory is compatible with Combined Charging System (CCS) ports. That allows you to use J1772 stations, which will automatically be configured on your myCadillac app when looking for your next point to recharge.
But what if you live near a Tesla Supercharger in New York? Normally, these stations are only available for Tesla vehicles due to the North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports. However, with our Tesla charging adapter for Cadillac EV models, you can safely and confidently charge your Cadillac Escalade IQ, LYRIQ, or any other vehicle we have an adapter for. In addition, some of our EVs, such as the 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ, may come with NACS capability as standard. Please ask our parts department at Paul Conte Cadillac about what adapters you may need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Cadillac EVs come with a charging cable or adapter?
Yes, all Cadillac EVs come with a Dual-Level Charging Cord, which handles up to 21 miles of charge per hour at designated stations.1 If you purchase a Cadillac OPTIQ, for example, it has a cord that is used for Level 2 charging stations or to plug directly into a home power outlet. You can also purchase adapters at our parts department to access more stations.
Can Cadillac EVs use Tesla Superchargers with an adapter?
Yes, there is an official Cadillac EV charging adapter for Tesla Supercharger stations. This port, called the GM NACS DC Adapter, will allow you to properly utilize Tesla Supercharger stations with all EV Cadillac models, including the Cadillac Escalade IQL. We recommend shopping with an official dealership to ensure your adapter is properly built for your model, as some vehicles may not be compatible with all adapters.
