Get some of the best coffee in Freeport from one of the coffee spots listed in our blog.

If you’re heading to Freeport, NY looking for coffee spots, you need to check out the places featured on our list. Rather unsurprisingly, New York has a thriving coffee scene, and some of the best coffee shops the state has to offer are an easy drive from Freeport.

1. Intelligentsia

Chicago-based Intelligentsia is one of the most popular coffee roasters in the country, or indeed in the world. Their shop here at the High Line Hotel is fast becoming a local favorite. You can watch the baristas prepare you a single-origin pour-over at the slow bar in a Kalita Wave brewer, or sit back and wait for your espresso at your table. If you’re hungry you’ll be pleased to know Intelligentsia is also home to award-winning pastry chef Umber Ahmad.

2. Teranga

At home inside the Africa Center, Teranga is a West African owned and themed café. Alongside the first-class Senegalese canteen-style cuisine you will find coffees from the other side of Africa, where they feature single-origin beans from Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Also on offer is the moringa latte, a West African version of the matcha latte.

3. Felix Roasting Co.

The Felix Roasting Co. is nothing short of the coffee equivalent of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Prepare to be blown away by smoke-infused coffees served under cloches and deconstructed espresso drinks served in wine glasses. If you’re wanting to snap some shots for your Instagram profile with your shots of espresso this may well be the place for you. Roasting their own coffee on-site and employing only the most accomplished baristas, this shop is unmissable.

4. Sey Coffee

Another café that roasts their own coffee on the premises here, Sey Coffee definitely takes pride in its craft. Regularly exporting their beans to some of the top cafés and restaurants in the state it is no surprise that the coffee served here is on another level. A third-wave shop focusing on seasonality and brewing pour-overs for the connoisseur, should you wish to learn more about specialty coffee it is well worth an evening visit to their cupping sessions.

5. Devoción

This coffee spot is Colombia through and through. Owner-operator Steve Sutton was born in Medellín and you can certainly see the influence here. Coffee served is exclusively Colombian and, with palm trees throughout, you could easily be forgiven for mistaking your whereabouts. It really does feel like a little slice of Colombia in New York. Owning their own processing facility in Bogotá means they are able to cut out the importers and guarantee unrivaled freshness.
With so many truly great coffee spots in Freeport, you will want to get around as many of them as you possibly can if you are a fan of espresso. To see the best the state has to offer you will need a car to get around them all. If you are in the market come on down to Paul Conte Cadillac today to test-drive one of our new or used models.
