Join Paul Conte Cadillac as we evaluate the Cadillac VISTIQ vs. Lucid Gravity, two luxurious midsize EVs that are making waves this year. It's the first year for the Cadillac VISTIQ – something our team in Freeport, NY, is very excited about. Meanwhile, the Lucid Gravity is also a fresh entry on the market. So, how do these newcomers compare? Learn more below.

Gravity vs. VISTIQ: Performance & Range

Cadillac VISTIQ: Elegantly engineered, you'll find the same responsive, all-wheel-drive performance across the model's lineup. Its dual-motor powertrain generates 615 horsepower and can zip from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds while still earning up to an EPA-estimated 305 miles of range.1

Lucid Gravity: The standard dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup for the Gravity pushes out 560 horsepower and hits the 60 mph mark in four seconds. While it can reach up to 337 miles of range,2 opting for larger wheels will drop your range to 301 miles.2 There's an available powertrain that produces more than the standard VISTIQ setup, but you'll have to shell out significantly more to access it.

Winner: Tie. Though the Gravity offers more output than the VISTIQ via an expensive upgrade, the Cadillac SUV gives you the same exhilarating performance across every trim, which ultimately tops that of the Lucid SUV's standard setup.

VISTIQ vs. Gravity: Battery & Charging

Cadillac VISTIQ: Regain 80 miles of charge for the 102-kWh VISTIQ battery in 10 minutes at a DC fast charger.3 Alternatively, charge up to 46.9 miles per hour with a Level 2 connection.3

Lucid Gravity: According to the manufacturer, the Gravity can regain about 200 miles of charge in 11 minutes for its range-topping edition (15 minutes for the entry-level variant).4 As of this writing, Level 2 charging times haven't been published by Lucid.

Winner: Gravity. We reluctantly give this category to the Gravity, though we don't know how quickly it can charge with a Level 2 connection.

Gravity vs. VISTIQ: Interior & Comfort

Cadillac VISTIQ: The Cadillac VISTIQ embodies elegance with ample amenities for occupants in every row. Standard front-seat massaging, heating, and ventilation support you and your co-pilot on long drives, while five-zone climate control keeps everyone comfortable. The power dual-pane panoramic sunroof can open to let in fresh air.

Lucid Gravity: Although impressive, the Gravity lacks the level of luxurious standard creature comforts provided by the VISTIQ, as you can see in the chart above.

Winner: VISTIQ. The Cadillac SUV outshines the Lucid model with a cabin that provides superior standard comfort amenities for all occupants.

VISTIQ vs. Gravity: Infotainment & Tech

Cadillac VISTIQ: Enjoy a high-tech cockpit with standard appointments like a 23-speaker AKG® Studio sound system with Dolby Atmos®, an expansive 33-inch diagonal display, and wireless device charging.

Lucid Gravity: While the Gravity also has wireless device charging, along with a more combined screen real estate from its two front-row displays, the model comes standard with a lackluster 10-speaker sound system.

Winner: VISTIQ. We don't think the additional screen space over the VISTIQ's still massive display is enough for the Gravity to take the win when you consider the difference in infotainment sound quality and speakers between the two.

Lucid Gravity vs. VISTIQ: Safety & Reliability

Cadillac VISTIQ: Rolling into its debut model year, the VISTIQ is supremely safe with ample driver aids, like Traffic Sign Recognition, semi-autonomous driving through Super Cruise™,5 and HD Surround Vision.

Lucid Gravity: The Gravity offers plenty of advanced driver-assistance systems, but many come at an additional cost, including Hands-Free Driving Assist and 3D Surround View Monitoring.

Winner: VISTIQ. Since both the new Cadillac VISTIQ and Lucid Gravity are new, there aren't many third-party reliability scores to review. However, the VISTIQ provides advanced driver-support systems as standard, which the Gravity requires upgrades to access.

So, Who Wins the Cadillac VISTIQ vs. Lucid Gravity Comparison?

Our Cadillac VISTIQ vs. Lucid Gravity showdown was fierce, but we give the win to the Cadillac model. Charging time is about the only meaningful win the Gravity can claim – it has an advantage in available power, too, but the Cadillac wins the performance category when comparing standard powertrains. Additionally, the Lucid SUV requires upgrades to reach the same level of cabin comfort, driver support, and advanced technology that the VISTIQ delivers as standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key luxury features that set the Cadillac VISTIQ apart from the Lucid Gravity?

Standard luxury amenities like a heated steering wheel, front-seat ventilation and massaging, driver-seat memory, a 23-speaker sound system, and five-zone automatic climate control set the Cadillac VISTIQ apart from the Lucid Gravity. By comparison, the Lucid SUV offers the first three as upgrades, and it comes with a 10-speaker system and four-zone climate control.

How do the cabin materials (leather, trim, finishes) compare between the VISTIQ and Gravity?

The cabin materials of the VISTIQ and Gravity are similar in many ways. Both come standard with faux leather upholstery but can be upgraded to include genuine leather seating. Additionally, both SUVs can be had with suede and microfiber headliners and inserts. However, you'll find all of the above as standard in certain trims of the VISTIQ; the Gravity requires an upgrade to access these, regardless of the variant.

Which SUV provides better overall interior room for passengers in all rows: the VISTIQ or the Gravity?

In terms of legroom and headroom, the VISTIQ and gravity both have their advantages. The Cadillac SUV has over 2 inches of additional front legroom and third-row headroom. Meanwhile, the Gravity offers more than an inch of extra front headroom and 2 inches of second-row legroom. That being said, the VISTIQ delivers more shoulder room in every row.

Are there differences in sound insulation and ride quietness between the Lucid Gravity and the Cadillac VISTIQ?

Although many drivers have high expectations of the Gravity, it's still being tested by vehicle connoisseurs for its ride quality. Meanwhile, the VISTIQ is a little more solidly understood – it includes Active Noise Cancellation to keep the cabin quiet, while the Gravity seems to miss out on this feature.
